VISION 20/20
One year.
20 leaders.
20 breakthroughs.
A Germination Project initiative, Vision 20/20 is an annual, policy focused fellowship convening twenty of Philadelphia’s influential leaders— The 20 — to confront the most pressing challenges facing our city and region, and propose practical, data-informed and nuanced solutions to those challenges.
Each year, a new class of The 20 will tackle one of the many endemic issues that continue to hinder Philadelphia’s emergence as a leading global city in the 21st century. From significant disparities in public health to the social determinants that impact individual health, to siloed, outdated and incompatible systems, to effective and transparent governance, Vision 20/20 is driven to find innovative and effective solutions to our most seemingly intractable problems. Through careful research and reflection on existing data from our past, Vision 20/20 will develop clear and evidence-based pathways forward.
A primary goal of Vision 20/20 is to create a proactive culture in the Greater Philadephia region that does not wait for the current systems to break or be replaced. Vision 20/20 rejects the idea of status quo permanence and acknowledges that we must evolve and adapt rapidly in a changing world. Each year, the 20 will attempt to deconstruct current systems impacting a macro category, for example public health, analyze what works or does not and propose a 20-point capstone report highlighting new and better versions of sustainable and cumulative solutions.
